Soil microbes in saline-alkali lands can significantly enhance soil carbon sequestration by forming inorganic carbon. This study isolated microbes from the Yellow River Delta and identified ten strains (bacterial and fungal) capable of carbonate precipitation. Although in situ validation is needed, the findings highlight the potential of soil bacteria and fungi in carbon sequestration and underscore their role in soil inorganic carbon formation.
