Soil amendments can significantly enhance soil quality and ryegrass growth in alpine grasslands. This study compared the effects of cattle manure, straw, and mushroom substrate on soil properties and ryegrass performance over two years. Mushroom substrate increased biomass and root length, while all amendments improved soil organic carbon and microbial biomass, with manure and straw enhancing soil aggregation.
Soil amendment incorporation increases organic carbon by improving soil agglomerate and soil microbial biomass carbon in the alpine grassland
